Gai'a Notios Red Nemea Peloponnese
Grapes: Agiorgitiko 85%, Syrah 15%
Agiorgitiko is a fragrant red wine grape native to Greece's Peloponnese peninsula. This wine is produced from grapes of exceptional maturity that are cultivated in a low-yielding, non-irrigated vineyard on the hills surrounding the Nemea wine region. Having fermented at low and controlled temperatures with selected yeasts, the wine is allowed to undergo malolactic fermentation and is cold stabilised.
This results in a youthful style of wine with refreshing, velvety texture and intense, persistent aromas of ripe red and black fruit. Soft tannins underlie a well-structured and vivacious palate showing spicy flavours of fresh herbs, liquorice and summer pudding fruits.
