The Chenin Blanc grapes for this Vouvray are carefully selected from a certified organic single vineyard - Les Calcaires. The vineyard covers Turonian limestone hillsides, interspersed with confluent valleys, with flinty clay soils. The grapes are vinified plot by plot, with fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks.
This creates a classic Vouvray, lemon in appearance with multiple gold reflections. The bouquet brings attractive aromas of apple, grape and vine peach complemented by mineral overtones. These elements are beautifully balanced on the palate with a lively and persistent finish. Try with flavourful fish, salads, steamed vegetables or goats cheese.
Domaine de la Rouletière is located in the heart of some of the most sought-after slopes in Vouvray. Founded in 1914, it is owned by the Gilet family, wine-growers for five generations. Their 27 hectare vineyard is cultivated organically, respecting the environment and the terroir. The wines are elegantly styled, beautifully balanced and bear all the hallmarks of superb Vouvray.
