Our range of Gonzales Byass premium sherries bring out the best in this fortified wine. The dry Amontillado (£16.75) is light amber in colour, subtle and delicate with typical Palomino aromas of delicate almond and subtle notes of oak. The Oloroso (£16.75) is also dry, deep mahogany in colour, with round intense aromas of hazelnuts and walnuts. Flavourful and structured with a long and complex aftertaste showing vanilla, spiced notes of truffle and a surprising sweet note. For full sweetness, the Pedro Ximenez (£17.75) has rich aromas of fruits such as raisins, figs and dates accompanied by honey, syrup and fruit preserve. Velvety and smooth with a long, flavourful finish.
For wine lovers, we have an extensive range from across the world to suit all budgets. Our white wines include the beautiful Ghost Corner Sauvignon Blanc (£18.25) - one of the finest from South Africa, focused and full-flavoured with breathtaking intensity. Aromas of capsicum, green fig and lemongrass evolve on the palate with gooseberry and satisfying minerality.
Our red wines bring international elegance and complexity to any dinner table. High end Perfume de Sonsierra (£39.50) is a premium Rioja with outstanding fruity notes of strawberry, blackcurrant, toffee and liquorice balancing exquisitely with chocolate and roasted coffee. Juicy and exuberant on the palate making for a powerful sensory experience.
We love our fizz with a range of white, rose and red to choose from. For a fruity treat, try Fresita available in 70cl (£9.85) or 20cl treat-sized bottles (£2.90). A blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Moscatel with each variety fermented separately before blending, then undergoing a second fermentation to obtain the final extra dry sparkling wine. Finally small, freshly-picked, intensely flavored Patagonian strawberries (from the foot of the Andes) are added for a deep, luscious wine filled with sweet strawberry intensity and refreshment.
Our Gin selection takes in craft gins from around them world, with many supporting local business from the North West of England. Batch are a Burnley-based craft distillery producing a range of award winning artisan gins. Their Industrial Strength offering (£46.75) is a Double Gold award recipient of the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and is a tribute to the working women of their industrial town. With sweet lemon notes on the nose, powerful juniper gives way to a smooth, lingering citrus finish making for an outstanding G&T.
Our Chase Vodka range shows unbeatable quality from England, distilled from field to bottle. Their Naked Chase Apple vodka (£44.70) is 'naked' because there is nothing added. This pure spirit is made from organically grown apples fermented into cider then distilled into vodka. Notes of fresh apple appear on the nose with a palate that is fresh and crisp. Their Marmalade vodka (£47.00) is made by marinating fine English marmalade preserve and infusing it with fresh Seville orange peel. A naturally rich bitter-sweet flavour and warm, velvety mouth feel balance with aromas of zesty orange.
For the teetotallers out there, we have a range of de-alcoholised wines including white, red and rose, as well as these fantastic sparkling and spirit substitutes (pictured). Bees Knees sparkling white (£4.25) is refreshing and well balanced combining sparkling fermented grape juice with premium green tea. Teetotal Cuba Libre (£2.00) is a superior blend of authentic Caribbean flavours, spices and premium cola, whilst Teetotal's Gin & Tonic (£2.00) blends Indian tonic water with selected natural botanicals.
Let's finish with that Mum favourite - chocolate! Chief Chocolate Officer spent a long time researching chocolate and wine (hard work!) to create chocolate bars to accompany different wines. The Wine Bars gift set (pictured, £13.25) features six of their range such as Pear & Elderflower white to pair with Sauvignon Blanc, and Coffee, Cherry & Cacao milk to pair with Pinot Noir.
