The Lakes Whiskymaker's Reserve No. 5 Single Malt

Part of The Lakes Distillery popular Whiskymaker's Reserve editions, No.5 in the series continues Dhavall Gandhi's inner pursuit of perfection, all the while staying faithful to their sherry-led house style though more refined and elegant whilst remaining bold at 52% ABV. 

No.5 has been matured in Oloroso, PX and red wine casks comprising Spanish and American oak. Inspired by Cognac cellar masters, the art of elevage is used to create intriguing layers of flavour. Casks are not sealed and the whisky is nurtured throughout the ageing process - frequent sampling, moving location and transferring between casks to evolve and enhance character. 

Elegant and restrained with a Moorish influence, the fruity aromatics lead to indulgent baklava and a vibrant, creamy finish. The nose is perfumed and fruity with polished oak, red apple, chocolate and hints of Devonshire cream. Pecan and walnut baklava reveals on the palate, alongside baking spices, candied papaya and hints of coffee. The finish is vibrant and creamy with toasted brown sugar lingering.
