Chateau Musar Jeune
Chateau Musar Jeune is an unoaked blend of Cinsault, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon from youthful, organically grown Bekaa Valley vines located at 1,000m above sea level. Fermented in cement-lined vats and bottled a year after harvest before release the following year. No fining or filtration.
One of their most popular easy-drinking wines with its vividly fruity style, it is inky dark in appearance with aromas of blackcurrant, raspberry, plum and cherry jam. The medium palate shows lots of juicy blackcurrant, lifted spice and freshness to the finish. Try with red meats, casseroles, charcuterie or mature cheeses.
The Hochar family’s philosophy of respect for the environment means that Musar vineyards are managed with minimal human interference and wines made with mineral intervention. Chateau Musar achieved organic certification for its vineyards in 2006. Most are located in the Bekaa Valley where vines have been cultivated for at least 6,000 years. All the grapes are hand-harvested and in the winery, ambient yeasts do the work of fermentation. The bare minimum of sulphur is used and red wines are neither fined nor filtered.
