Mackmyra Jaktlycka Single Malt
Mackmyra Jaktlycka ('Happy Hunting') is part of their Seasonal Range of Swedish single malt whiskies. Jaktlycka celebrates autumn, berry foraging and the treasures to be found in the ancient Swedish woods.
A whisky to savour, Jaktlycka follows an engaging trail of blueberries and lingonberries as the whisky was predominantly matured in casks that previously held Swedish berry wine from the craft producer Grythyttan. The essence of the whisky is Mackmyra's elegant recipe, aged in casks of Swedish and American oak, combined with a handful of smoky recipe casks for an inviting depth.
The nose is spicy with warm fruity grape tones and notes of herbs, soft vanilla oak, anise, ginger, raisins, pear caramel and vanilla. The creamy palate is soft, fruity and spicy with berries and dried fruit. pear, raisins, ginger and vanilla. The finish brings more berries, spice and oak with warm notes of raisins.
Mackmyra was founded in 1999 and produced Sweden's first Single Malt Whisky. They produce their whiskies using classis methods with Swedish ingredients, following their desire to experiment and innovate.
