A French red wine blend from the southern Gascogne region produced by the Laffitte brothers. Vines are planted on the highest hills of Ayzieu, also nicknamed “Little Tuscany” for its hilly, varied landscape. The tawny sands and terrebouc (clay-limestone) soils bring minerality, freshness and power to whites, whilst the special climate and oceanic-mountainous influence creates exceptional ripening potential and full flavour for reds.
Medium in body, yet deep and fruity, this Malbec is bright ruby red in appearance with aromas of fresh plum, cherry, and subtle spice of pepper and cloves. The juicy palate bursts with red and black fruit flavours, rounded, smooth texture, soft tannins and a satisfying finish. Try with beef, pork or lamb, stuffed mushrooms or peppers.
Domaine Laffitte is run by brothers Christophe and Sebastien. Passionate about vines and wine, they have worked to bring a vineyard, capable of expressing all the richness and complexity of the terroir. Their wines reflect their ethos: straightforward, authentic and generous.
