Alpha Estate Single Vineyard Turtles Malagouzia Florina
A Greek white wine from the Amyndeo, North West Greece region,This pristine estate in the cool highlands of Western Macedonia comprises 120 hectares of privately owned single block vineyards and employs the most up to date vineyard techniques and wine making technology to produce world class wines from French and indigenous Greek varietals.
The de stemed, lightly crushed grapes undergo controlled, cold soaked skin contact and the must fermented in stainless steel tanks before being maintained on its fine lees or "sur lie" for two months with regular stirring. This imparts a creamy texture and added complexity to the final wine.
A strong and lively nose of grapefruit, nectarine, green apple, white pepper and hints of almond blossom. This richly textured wine is very flavoursome, has superb length, balance and plenty of finesse. bright and a long zesty and mineral long finish
The Malagouzia grapes come from a single vineyard site, known as "Turtles" because it is a nesting site for the local turtle population. The soil is sandy clay with excellent drainage.
