 WHITE WINE SELECTION

Sacchetto Pinot Grigio

Grapes are gently pressed before cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks to retain the fresh aromatics and purity of fruit. The result is a fresh wine of lemon appearance, with fruity aromas of citrus, pear and green apple. The palate shows excellent minerality alongside the fresh fruit with a touch of lime on the finish. Try with shellfish, salads, and light vegetable dishes. 

A Mexican white wine from Guadalupe Valley in Baja California. Pale lemon in appearance, it shows lots of fresh citrus notes on the nose. The palate brings classic white fruit flavours of pear backed by citrus and touches of tropical fruit, with balanced acidity throughout for a fresh, long finish. Try with light fish and seafood dishes, a variety of vegetables and salads, goats or feta cheeses. 
Azulejo White

This light, fresh and zesty Portuguese white is from Lisboa winery Casa Santos Lima's Azulejo range. Native grapes Rabigato, Gouveio, Viosinho and Codega de Larinho are blended to bring a tropical and citrus fruit character. Aromas of green fruit, pear and lemon fall on the palate with a touch of honey and smooth, dry finish. Try with light fish and salads or mild cheeses. 

 

A great example of the Italian Vermentino grape from France's outstanding Languedoc-based Xavier Roger. Coquille de Mer uses grapes from the Cebazan area to create an easy drinking, dry and crisp wine. Pale lemon in colour with aromas of lime, pink grapefruit, apricot and floral notes, it shows ripe peach and tropical notes on the palate with a balanced acidity and refreshing finish. A great alternative to Sauvignon Blanc, it is ideal on its own, or with summer salads, seafood, creamy chicken dishes or asparagus risotto. Suitable for Vegans & Vegetarians.
The excellent clay-calcareous soil of Rioja Alavesa together with its optimal microclimate, provides the right conditions to grow the most esteemed varieties of wines. Manoso Viura provides careful cold soaking of grapes to produce condensed freshness.Straw yellow in colour with aromas of fresh peach , apricot and nectarine. Fresh, round and easy drinking, the palate is packed with delicious stone fruit flavours. An incredibly versatile food wine. Try with canapes, salads, chicken, fish or seafood. 
A classic example of Austrian Gruner Veltliner from Weinwurms winery using grapes that are hand harvested into small boxes to keep the skins intact until they undergo gentle pressing before fermentation in stainless steel.The result is a clear, bright and fruity wine with hints of green apple, banana, lime and herbaceous notes on the vivacious and crispy palate. Great as an aperitif and pairs well with poultry dishes such as grilled chicken or with a crisp salad.

 

 RED WINE SELECTION

Valderba has a fruit-driven style and exhibits an appearance of bright cherry with violet hues. Elegant and easy to drink with fresh fruit aromas falling on to a palate of medium body, fine texture and a refreshing finish. Try with pizza, tomato pastas, tapas, charcuterie or soft cheese.
Matured in oak barrels, this wine shows a beautiful ruby colour and a powerful nose of red and black fruits. Fine and elegant oaking gives a fleshy and round fullness in the mouth with a satisfyingly fruity finish.  Try with steak, fish dishes, or vegan burgers.
A Mexican red wine from Guadalupe Valley in Baja California. Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec grapes are aged in oak for 6 months before release. The bouquet brings lots of red fruit aromas with subtle vanilla and spice. An easy drinking palate of ripe blackcurrant and raspberry with warming wood spice on the finish. Try with beef, lamb or vegetable curry and chilli dishes.
Sacchetto Pinot Nero

This is a ripe and juicy youthful Pinot Noir. Light purple in appearance with fresh red berried fruit such as raspberry, cherry and strawberry. The palate shows a perfect easy-drinking style with a pleasant finish. Try with roasted mushrooms or mushroom risotto, tuna dishes or soft cheeses. 

Je T'Aime is an intense wine  with aromas of dark stewed fruit complimented by warming spice notes. Rich and smooth, the palate shows beautifully balanced freshness and purity of fruit, with notes of crushed raspberry, delicate hints of spice and graphite. Try with duck, goose or pork, garlic or curry dishes, roast vegetables, eggplant, or hard cheeses.

Home-grown in the Old Road Wine Co's very own French Corner, the Franschhoek Valley of South Africa. An expressive Rhone-based blend with equal parts Grenache Noir bringing upfront blackberry, candied cherry and plums, and Mourvedre adding juicy dark fruit and savoury richness. An element of Shiraz brings dark fruit and white pepper spice, whilst just a drizzle of Viognier binds it all together. Aromas dominated by ripe dark fruit, slick mouthfeel, supple tannins and that savoury kick on the finish. Try with game, lamb, hearty stews and casseroles.
