 WHITE WINE SELECTION

Paparuda Feteasca Regala

An excellent introduction to one of Eastern Europe's most popular white grapes, Feteasca Regala. This example from the Paparuda range is easy-drinking yet fully satisfying. A bouquet of jasmine, apple and elderflower before a clean, zesty palate of pear, grapefruit, pineapple and gala melon. Try with grilled fish dishes and salads.

Franschhoek Cellar Town Hall Chardonnay

An unoaked Chardonnay with carefully selected grapes spending time on lees to bring out the full flavour of this versatile grape. Pale gold in colour, the tantalising bouquet brings pineapple, citrus lemon and touches of lime zest. The lively palate shows great balance, juicy ripe fruits and a fresh finish. Recommended with creamy pasta and chicken dishes, calamari or roast pork. 

This Reserva undergoes ageing on fine lees for 2 to 3 months to reinforce good structure and fine aromas. The bouquet is fresh, highlighting grapefruit, lime, apple and apricot, while delivering subtle notes of caramel. The palate is fruity and well-balanced with good acidity, smoothness, mineral qualities and a dry finish. Try with pork, charcuterie, tangy salads or Thai dishes. 

Aromas of pear, pineapple and passion fruit mingle with a citrus backbone and floral touches of orange blossom. The palate shows ripe fruit tones with added honey, baking spices and vanilla before the zest comes back for the crisp finish.  Try with spiced cured meats, grilled fish, paella or garlic dishes.

Winemakers in Picpoul de Pinet create their own exceptional white wine using Picpoul (Piquepoul). Domaine Morin-Langaran's is organic-certified and full of juicy lemon fruit and mineral freshness alongside delicate floral acacia and hawthorn blossom. The palate is elegant and fresh with an excellent acid structure. Perfect with flavourful seafood such as oysters, mussels or salmon, antipasti and sushi. 

This Sicilian organic white wine uses Insolia (Inzolia) grapes, the oldest native grape in Sicily. Lemon appearance with green hues, the fruity and expressive nose shows scents of white and yellow peach, pear and apricot alongside refined florals. The palate shows a delicious fleshy attack with citrus backbone and herbaceous layers. Lone persistence on the finish of golden apple.  Try with mushroom risotto, salmon salad, light pastas or soft cheese.

 

 RED WINE SELECTION

Bright ruby red with attractive plum and black cherry aromas tinged with herbal tea, liquorice and gentle oak spice. Soft and juicy on the palate with mouth-filling summer berry flavours that finish smoothly with sour cherry succulence. Recommended with spicy sausage, roast lamb, spaghetti bolognese, pizza or cottage pie.

A sumptuous wine filled with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, subtle vanilla and sweet spice that fall in satisfying layers on the palate. Complex with exceptional balance and a quaffable finish.  Try with antipasti, slow-cooked red meats and stews, or mature cheeses.

Ruby in appearance with bright red cherry aromas in a soft style. The palate shows rich berries, a little green stalk and a hint of black pepper. Supple, silky tannins pair well with gentle spice on the finish. Try with roast duck or game, roasted veg, wild mushrooms or garlic dishes. 

Jammy Monkey abounds with dark fruit aromas before a smooth palate of plum, blackberry and mulberry, with hints of black pepper and warming spice on the finish. Try with smoky barbecue cuisine, rich stews or hard mature cheeses. 

Diren Collection Kalecik Karasi Anatolia

Deep ruby with purple hues, this wine shows soft aromas of red fruits alongside subtle notes of banana in the background. These follow on to the palate with light tannins, fruity finesse and elegance. Try with pork, aubergine, mushroom and garlic dishes, sheep's milk cheese or aged cheese. 

A wine of deep cherry colour with violet tints. Intense aromas of ripe red seasonal fruit (cherries, blackberries, blackcurrant), subtle hints of violets, rosemary and a touch of black pepper. The palate has distinctive power and vibrant crunchy-fruit and freshness, with soft and ripe tannins. Spicy and juicy with excellent depth of finish. Try with richly flavoured roast or barbecue meats, charcuterie, paella, or mature hard cheeses.
