H's Dabnika Rubin

The H's series from Haralambievi uses only native Bulgarian grape varieties, using modern technology to bring these grapes to contemporary life. Rubin grapes are harvested from their Dabnika vineyard, where the river descends from the Balkan Mountains foothills to its firth. Fermentation and malolactic in stainless steel with pump overs and delestage, with a further 11 months ageing before bottling. 

The result is an elegant yet venturesome Rubin. Ruby in colour, it shows expressive layered aromas of black mulberry, cherry, blackcurrant, dried leaves and black pepper. The palate has graceful medium body and soft tannins, all wrapped up in a pleasant freshness. Try with red meats, mushroom dishes, cottage or feta cheese.

The Haralambievi family vineyard was established in 2009 when Dimitar planted their first vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. A second vineyard of international white grape varieties followed in 2012, before two more cultivating a mix of native and international red grapes. With 85 hectares and a growing following, the Haralambievi winery was founded, specialising in the production of small batch, high quality boutique wines.
