| Grape: | Saperavi |
| Strength: | 12% |
| Style: | Semi sweet |

| Cellar Notes: | A great example of one of Georgia’s most renowned wines; especially popular in the former Soviet Union, but very worthy of a wider audience. Produced only in the controlled micro-zone of Kindzmarauli in the Kakheti region, and made from 100% Saperavi grapes. The fermentation is stopped early by chilling, leaving just a touch of sweetness. |
| Appearance: | Crimson pink in colour |
| Aromas: | Notes of red cherry and spice |
| Palate: | Slightly sweet. This is balanced by fresh acidity typical of the Saperavi variety and some savoury tannins. It’s a medium-bodied and deliciously smooth wine |
| Serving Notes: | Try it with chocolate cake, or with tasty cheeses and dried fruit

Teliani valley was established in 1997 in the highly-regarded area on Tsinandali at the heart of the country’s best viticultural region. The winery sees itself as the successor of Georgian traditions, but interpreted using modern technology and with the help of a bright young team. In 2004, a brand new winery was completed, with support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. It was equipped with all the most modern technology from Western Europe, and new vineyards were planted in all of Georgia’s best micro zones. Teliani won a major award as Georgia’s best medium-sized enterprise in 2005 and has set up the country’s first school for sommeliers
