Cellar Notes:The combination of youth and complexity makes this a wine to remember. Grapes selected and grown using the most respectful techniques both with the plants and with the environment. The grapes are grown, cosseted and selected from among the vineyards to achieve refreshing, youthful notes combined with the specific characteristics provided by the Páramo de Corcos soils and the Tempranillo grape variety. After a perfectly-controlled vinification, the wine is placed in 65% French 35% American oak casks for 5 months then aged in the bottle for a further 8 months. The combination of the grape’s youthfulness and the complexity contributed by the casks will result in a perfect balance.
Appearance:Red clean bright wine. Dark cherry red with a purple rim and good depth.
Aromas:Intense, complex nose with light balsamic hints. A conjunction of the typical youthful aromas of the grape variety and notes of stewed, overripe dark fruit. A touch of cask aging with just the right amount of toasty notes to provide it with elegance and a perfect balance.
Palate:Round and pleasant in the mouth, with good volume yet retaining the joyfulness and freshness of youth. This is a well structured wine that plays a symphony of youth to the mouth.
Serving Notes:Delicious with tender dark meats.

Paramo de Corcos is a special area within the D.O. Ribera del Duero because of its particular characteristics. It is a plateau at an altitude of 950 m above sea level, with a harsh climate with temperatures ranging from highs of 40 °C in the summer to lows of -15 °C in winter and very little rainfall. The soil is also very special, with unique characteristics for growing vines. It consists of sandy loam with a deep layer of clay underneath and a pebbly surface on top.
The 30 ha of vineyards show a wide range of traits that make them unique. The vines have been grafted onto old, quality vines from the area.
These factors make the wines of Paramo de Corcos different from any other from the vineyard. Every plot is controlled and studied. They have been working at the vineyard for many years, so they know each plot perfectly and this allows them to obtain the maximum potential of their vineyards. In view of the exceptional setting for grape growing and the availability of a native grape variety that has adapted to the harshness of the area, with unique characteristics for making great wines, it was a question of time before a wine such as Paramos de Corcos could be created, a wine that reflects the land, the climate, the grape variety and the work of its people.
