| Cellar Notes: | Only made in very special years, this is the wine where a perfect combination of grapes, casks and time appears in all its splendour. Not every year do the right conditions coincide to make the Páramo de Corcos Reserva and not every year that they do offer such conditions does the long evolution process result in the quality required by this great wine. Special vintages, special vinifications, everything is different in our Páramo de Corcos Reserva. Optimal conditions at harvest and meticulous and respectful vinification. Combination of woods, coopers, toasting levels and times. Aged in 90% French 10% American oak casks for 18 months then a further 18 months restful stay in the bottle, slow evolution, peacefulness, repose and time. A limited edition for special vintages. |
| Appearance: | A deep clean ruby wine with a rim tending towards the slow evolution to which the wine resists itself. |
| Aromas: | An honest complex nose. A combination of balsamic, toasty, spicy and leathery notes. |
| Palate: | Long in the mouth and round with a smooth structure settled in time. A persistent finish. |
| Serving Notes: | Too good to share your tastebuds with food. |
Vineyard notes
: Bodegas Paramo de Corcos
Paramo de Corcos is a special area within the D.O. Ribera del Duero because of its particular characteristics. It is a plateau at an altitude of 950 m above sea level, with a harsh climate with temperatures ranging from highs of 40 °C in the summer to lows of -15 °C in winter and very little rainfall. The soil is also very special, with unique characteristics for growing vines. It consists of sandy loam with a deep layer of clay underneath and a pebbly surface on top.
The 30 ha of vineyards show a wide range of traits that make them unique. The vines have been grafted onto old, quality vines from the area.
These factors make the wines of Paramo de Corcos different from any other from the vineyard. Every plot is controlled and studied. They have been working at the vineyard for many years, so they know each plot perfectly and this allows them to obtain the maximum potential of their vineyards. In view of the exceptional setting for grape growing and the availability of a native grape variety that has adapted to the harshness of the area, with unique characteristics for making great wines, it was a question of time before a wine such as Paramos de Corcos could be created, a wine that reflects the land, the climate, the grape variety and the work of its people.
