Cellar Notes: | For this rich, organic sambuca distillery Domenis use the star anise, which gives an elegant and intense taste. The plant is situated in Cividale del Friuli in the heart of a territory renowned throughout the world for the richness and elegance of the sambuca. The company, dating from 1898, owes its success to the pursuit of strong traditional values passed down through four generations of the Domenis family, who have managed the business to the present day.

Aromas: | less sweet-smelling than expected, with amazingly clear and strong fresh anise and liquorice allsort aromas.

Palate: | the intensity of the anise is (almost literally) breathtaking, combined with a superbly generous, luscious texture which gives the Sambuca a rich, luxuriant but not cloying or sticky mouthfeel. An amazingly long, sweet liquorice finish.

Serving Notes: | Domenis Sambuca should be served at room
temperature. Furthermore, it may be served
with a coffee bean to be chewed during
tasting, enabling a more intense taste
experience. Even when chilled, or taken with
an Espresso, the Sambuca will freshen up the
flavour and is often used as a sweetener.
