Under Gabriel Archimbaud, the present owner’s grandfather, Montmirail was the first grower in Vacqueyras to bottle and market their own wine. They have 15 hectares in Vacqueyras. They use a 15 day fermentation, before maturing the wine for at least a year. The château is well known as one of the top Gigondas producers, making rich velvety wines. The quality of the wine, the authentic safeguard of the wine produced and the desire to satisfy the most delicate of palates has always been perpetuated by each generation. Gabriel Archimbaud, whose passion was the vineyard and wine, transmitted his determination for the recognition of the appellation to his sons. He was the first bottler in Vacqueyras and organised the production and commercialisation of his product, which was then further developped by his son Maurice. Today the château is run by Maurice's daughter together with her son Philippe and the quality of the wines are appreciated in the whole world.
