Vineyard Notes: Vineyard: Phillipe Herard
Two Champagne producers set up Herard in 1973, applying their expertise to create a high quality small bead sparkling wine, using the traditional method. It has good acidity and fruit as well as some autolysis character - the wine is aged on the lees in bottle for 9 months. The base wines principally come from the grapes Ugni Blanc, Bourboulenc and Chenin Blanc, together with some Chardonnay.
