Cellar Notes:Created in 1876, this is a Champagne at it's finest, as inspired today as it has always been, the embodiment of elegance and purity. 20% fermented in large oak foudres with weekly batonnage. No Malolactic fermentation. Made from Grand Crus in the Montagne de Reims, the Marne Valley and the Cote des Blancs. Aged for an average of five years on the lees and given a further 8 months after disgorgement. Dosage is adjusted depending on the vintage, but is in the range of 8 to 10 grammes per litre.
Appearance:Light bright gold
Aromas:Cristal bursts from the glass with fresh hazelnut and apple scents.
Palate:Elegant, deep, and silky-textured, this medium to full-bodied beauty is immensely concentrated, pure, packed with apple flavours, and astoundingly long in the finish.
Serving Notes:The breadth given by the partial fermentation in wood and the exceptional intensity of the fruit make this a perfect food champagne. As the wine is still young it is best with fish courses.

Vineyard: Roederer

Arguably the most reliable non-vintage Champagne of them all, made by one of the very last family-owned large houses with their own grapes, from 214 hectares of fully-owned vineyard. The toasty house style is a consequence of the decision to age for three years on the lees with reserve wines which are kept in large wood vats.
