| Appearance: | Pale golden yellow. |
| Aromas: | Persistent mousse with nut and apple aromas. Rich, crisp, refreshing and fragrant with superb balance. |
| Palate: | Undoubtedly the King of Champagne Krug consistently produces the finest wines that Champagne have to offer. Rich and complex with a characteristic toasty quality on the nose, this champagne has the most delicate and fine bubbles imaginable. On the palate the complexity continues with a nuttiness combining with a fresh lemony acidity. An outstanding wine suitable for any occasion. |
| Serving Notes: | Very versatile, can be drunk as an aperitif or with desserts such as: poached pears in phyllo pastry with brandy sabayon or with dishes such as Riesling-poached trout with thyme. |
Vineyard:
Krug
Although now part of the giant Louis Vuitton-Moët Hennessey group and incorporated into the Veuve-Clicquot company, Krug is still run by the Krug family, which originated in Germany and founded the firm in 1843. The wines are all fermented in oak, a practice that adds complexity, finesse and richness. Long aging on the yeast, strict selection of grapes and a father-to-son winemaking tradition add up to the quality that makes Krug so highly regarded.
