| Cellar Notes: | All fruit was blended at the receival bin, destemmed and chilled to 5oC. To achieve the desirable level of colour and flavour extraction the fruit was left on skins for 16 hours in the press. Skillogalee is a 150 acre property found within the Clare Valley wine region.The property and business were purchased by Dave and Diana Palmer in 1989, however grapes were first grown on the property, in the early 1970's, on vineyards that are generally quite steep with eastern facing slopes. All the fruit for the wines from Skillogalee is produced from their own vineyards. Within Clare Skillogalee occupies the western extreme of the Sevenhill sub-region. The Skillogalee Valley represents a separate viticultural area, distinct from the main valley and the Polish Hill Valley further west. It is separated from the main valley by a distinct north-south ridge. Rainfall tends to be a little higher than other parts of the Valley.
Lovely wine - shame about the ugly & cheap bottle design.
