Haut Bertinerie is a high class operation, and their approach in both vineyard and cellar would not look out of place at one of the classed growth properties across the Gironde. Daniel Bantegnies inherited the property from his father in 1961 and set about renovating the estate and buying up further vineyards. In the late 80s he was joined by his Bordeaux trained sons, Eric and Frantz, who have continued to innovate and make improvements. All the 60 hectares of vines are now trained using the lyre system, which while costly to maintain ensures fruit at optimum condition and ripeness.
