Price £26.65

Stock Level: 2

Grape:Pinot Gris
Strength:13.5 %
Style:Dry
Size:750ml

Cellar Notes:Trimbach only makes its Reserve Personelle range from grapes harvested in top years and the choicest vineyard plots and the results are rich, weighty, opulent wines which can take many years to develop their full potential. This cuvee is from the Grand Cru Osterberg vineyard.
Appearance:Yellow in colour with green hints.
Aromas:Rich and fragrant nose, apricot, ripe pear and mango with a touch of botryti.
Palate:Ripe, but not too much, this wine is rich, complex and fat, with a beautiful structure and length. Fruitiness, dryness and smokyness are its typical characters from Alsace and make this Pinot Gris a nice companion of food. oasted nuts, marzipan and salinity underscore the peach and apple fruit here. A hint of honey adds nobility and relatively high acidity adds primary juiciness in the long, fascinatingly smoky, nutty, and mineral finish.
Serving Notes:Smokiness and salinity balanced with rich fruit are the drivers of the wine, meaning that it complements smoked fishes, pan fried fish with sesame crust, chorizo with seafood and bacon quiche. It goes together with terrines, foie gras, smoked fishes and fish in sauce, and especially salmon and white meats. It is the ideal compagnon of spicy, oriental and asiatic foods thanks to its exquisite fruitiness which confers fullness and perfect harmony.

Trimbach

The Trimbach family has been involved in making wine since 1626 and has, over thirteen generations, built an enviable reputation for the quality of its entire range. From the Pinot Blanc through to the iconic Clos Sainte Hune Riesling, the wines are considered the benchmark for quality, consistency and style.
The essence of Trimbach, with the obvious exception of the luscious dessert wines, is the traditional dry style in which the wines are made. Many Alsace houses are today making rather clumsy wines with an element of sweetness that detracts from their food matching suitability; not so with Trimbach, whose wines are pure, vibrant and refreshing. It is no accident that the Trimbach wines are listed in every single one of the 26 Michelin Three Star restaurants in France, and are present on the very best restaurant wine lists across the globe.
